Author: Matthew (Page 2 of 33)

I have a Ph.D. in the History of Christianity and Classics (that is, ancient Greek and Roman things) from the University of Edinburgh (viva, 2015). My dissertation was about the manuscripts of Pope Leo I's letters. I have taught the history of Christianity in the ancient and medieval worlds, the history of ancient Rome and Late Antiquity, and Greek and Latin language and literature. I enjoy pre-modern Christianity, with particular interest (besides Leo!) in Christology, Trinitarian theology, asceticism, and mysticism, not to mention Eastern Christianity. I think it would be interesting to do a project like this with The Philokalia someday. I live in Canada.
